UNW baseball prepares for spring training trip

The University of Northwestern – St. Paul baseball team is gearing up for their annual spring training trip to Florida. The team will fly out on the first day of spring break, March 8, and spend the next week and a half enjoying the sun while preparing for their conference season. Head baseball coach Dave Hieb said, “We’ve been going on this trip to the same place in Florida for 22 years.” The trip consists of training and games as well as two off-days. On the off-days, the baseball players have the opportunity to visit the beach or attend Major League Baseball spring training games.

Baseball and softball previews: teams begin in the sunshine state

During spring break the Eagles traveled down to Florida to participate in many games. The team competed against many other colleges from around the U.S. It provided great preparation for the season to begin. The eagles were able to play in great weather and compete against some great teams.

Baseball Season in Full Swing

The University of Northwestern – St. Paul baseball season kicked off when the team went to Florida over spring break. They returned to begin the season at home on the new diamond and looking ahead at the promising season and conference games in April.
