The women’s basketball team at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul began their season in November. There were a lot of ups and downs throughout the season but overall it was a success. Although they didn’t win the conference championship, they still had a winning season. The Eagles faced off against Hamline University for the first game of the year. The game was particularly special for senior Alex Peterson. She originally went to Hamline before transferring to Northwestern. “One of my favorite games from this season was definitely playing and beating Hamline,” said Peterson. Another big early season game for UNW was playing Snelling Avenue neighbor, Bethel University. Whenever Northwestern plays Bethel in any sport it is a big game. The game took place on campus in the Ericksen Center, and Northwestern came out victorious by a score of 55-48.
